DVD previews: 'Spectre,' 'Grandma'

Here's a look at DVDs coming out Tuesday, Feb. 9:

"Spectre" (PG-13, 148 minutes, MGM/Sony/Fox): The 24th James Bond film in 53 years finds Daniel Craig, in his fourth turn as secret agent 007, beginning to run out of gas. Bond tracks down a shadow international organization run by a mystery man (Christoph Waltz) with ties to the agent's past. Contains intense sequences of action and violence, some disturbing images, sensuality and obscenity. Extras include Video Blogs: Director - Sam Mendes, Supercars, Day of the Dead Festival, Introducing Lea Seydoux and Monica Bellucci, Action, Music, Guinness World Record. Blu-ray adds "SPECTRE: Bond's Biggest Opening Sequence" and a gallery.

"Grandma" (R, 79 minutes, Sony): Lily Tomlin, as the titular character, tries to help her pregnant granddaughter raise $600 to get an abortion in this comedy-drama. Contains obscenity and some drug use. Extras include "A Family Portrait: The Making of Grandma"; Q&A with Tomlin, Sam Elliott and director Paul Weitz; and commentary with Tomlin, Elliott, Julia Garner and Weitz.

"Crimson Peak" (R, 119 minutes, Universal): Tom Hiddleston, Jessica Chastain, Mia Wasikowska and Charlie Hunnam star in a Guillermo del Toro-directed horror tale set in 19th-century England. An American (Wasikowska) marries a mysterious Englishman (Hiddleston) and goes to live in his creepy, unsafe castle with his even creepier sister (a miscast Chastain). Contains violence, frightening images, sex, brief nudity and some coarse language. Extras include deleted scenes; "The Light and Dark of Crimson Peak" production featurette; "Beware of Crimson Peak" walking tour of the many secret spaces in Allerdale Hall; and feature commentary with co-writer and director del Toro. Blu-ray adds "I Remember Crimson Peak" interviews with del Toro, Wasikowska, Hiddleston and Chastain; "A Living Thing" set featurette; "A Primer on Gothic Romance"; "Crimson Phantoms" makeup effects featurette; and "Hand Tailored Gothic" costume design featurette.

Also: "99 Homes" (dramatic thriller starring Andrew Garfield and Michael Shannon), "Convergence" (supernatural detective tale), "The Emigrants"/"The New Land" (high-def digital restoration of 1971-72 Max Von Sydow/Liv Ullmann epics), "Freaks of Nature" (humans, vampires and zombies fight an alien invasion), "Love the Coopers" (star-studded dysfunctional family Christmas story), "Marshland" (Spanish murder mystery), "MI-5" (British agents track a terrorist), "Paulette" (French retiree begins supplementing her pension by dealing pot), "Playin' for Love" (high school basketball coach gets romantically involved with a player's mother), "Sheba, Baby" (Blu-ray release of a 1975 Blaxploitation cult film starring Pam Grier), "Sociopathia" (serial killer keeps her victims as "dolls"), "Welcome to Leith" (documentary about a white supremacist's attempted takeover of a small North Dakota town).

Television series: "The Carol Burnett Show: Treasures From the Vault" (six-disc collection featuring 15 complete and uncut episodes and more than four hours of specially produced bonus features), "Hee Haw: Kornfield Klassics" (includes two complete vintage episodes from 1971), "The Leftovers: The Complete Second Season" (three-disc DVD and two-disc Blu-ray with all 10 episodes of the HBO series).
