Palatine Library Celebrates the Oscars

The Palatine Public Library District celebrates the 88th Academy Awards with a contest and Oscar prediction program. Do you think you can guess the Oscar winners? Look for the Oscar Contest display in the lobby of the Main Library, Monday, February 15 through Sunday, February 28. Submit your guess for the best: actor, actress, supporting actor, supporting actress, picture, and director. One lucky winner will receive a prize basket containing a $10 Target gift card, chocolate treats, popcorn, and more! In the event of a tie, the tie-breaker question determines the winner. Valid adult District cardholders. One entry form per person. Winner will be notified by March, 1, 2016.

Along with the contest, this "star-studded" program is designed to help patrons enjoy the anticipation of the Academy Awards: Dann and Raymond's Oscar Prediction Picks, taking place on Thursday, February 25, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. Daily Herald movie critic Dann Gire, and film historian and novelist Raymond Benson discuss their picks. See if their predictions for the Oscar winners match yours! To sign up, please call (847) 358-5881, ext. 167, or visit www.palatinelibrary.org.
