Elgin resident Frank O'Connor celebrates 100th birthday

Frank O'Connor celebrated his 100th birthday on Jan. 18. Frank and his wife, Pauline, were longtime residents of South Elgin.

Frank lost his wife and best friend this past December.

Frank celebrated his big 100th on Jan. 17 with his son Mike, daughter-in-law, Karen, and granddaughters Kendra and Tegan, as well as about 35 friends and family.

This celebration continued on Monday with a party with the residents and employees at Citadel. Frank worked as a tool and die maker at Sherwin Williams for many years.

Frank has had many experiences in his 100 years; one he is especially proud of was his security assignment for President Roosevelt during his military service. Frank's family is the love of us life. Happy Birthday Frank!
