No. 16 Stanford women beat No. 25 Washington 69-53

STANFORD, Calif. (AP) - Lili Thompson had 19 of her 27 points in the first half to help No. 16 Stanford build its lead and the Cardinal maintained in the second to beat No. 25 Washington 69-53 on Friday night.

Thompson grabbed seven rebounds, made 5 of 8 from 3-point range and finished one point short of her career high (28).

The Cardinal (16-5, 6-3 Pac-12) had a 16-point lead late in the first quarter and the Huskies (15-5, 6-3) got no closer than 12 from there. Stanford's largest lead was 61-39 on Karlie Samuelson's 3-pointer with 6:10 left in the game.

Erica McCall and Brittany McPhee added 12 points each and Samuelson scored 10. Kaylee Johnson had 14 rebounds and four blocks to go with her two points.

Washington's top scorers, Kelsey Plum and Talia Walton, struggled shooting just 9 of 39 from the field. Plum had 23 points and Walton 10.
