Two Elgin men arrested on drugs, weapons charges
Two Elgin men face multiple drug and weapons charges after police executed a search warrant Friday evening at their residence in the 100 block of North Channing Street, police said in a news release. The warrant was sought after police received numerous reports of drugs being sold at the residence, the release said
Alberto Fernandez, 21, was charged with unlawful use of a weapon by a felon, misdemeanor possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia. Anthony Fernandez, 20, was charged with possession of a firearm without a firearm owner's ID card, possession of cannabis with intent to deliver, felony possession of cannabis, possession of ammunition and possession of drug paraphernalia, the release said.
Police said that members of the Special Investigations Division who served the warrant found a quantity of cannabis, items indicative of drug sales, three firearms and hundreds of rounds of ammunition at the residence.
Both men were scheduled to appear in Kane County Bond Court Saturday.
