The widow of disgraced Fox Lake police Lt. Charles Joseph Gliniewicz is out of jail after posting 10 percent of $50,000 bail Wednesday. Melodie Gliniewicz, 51, is charged with four counts of disbursing charitable funds without authority for personal benefit or use and two counts of money laundering. Full story.

Barrington gas leak worse than initially believed

A leak from a downtown Barrington gas station that seeped fuel into the village's sanitary sewer system was worse than officials initially thought, leading them to shut down the station again until repairs and further testing are complete. Greg Summers, the director of development services for Barrington, said workers pumped about 6,000 gallons of spilled fuel and water Tuesday and Wednesday from the soil around the Mobil gas station at Northwest Highway and East Main Street. Naperville career center marks 20 years of helping jobseekers

With 20 years experience helping people land jobs, the Community Career Center in Naperville is making plans to be around for at least another 20 more. The nonprofit job assistance center is launching an endowment to provide long-term financial stability in case other funding sources run out, Executive Director Kim White said.
