Baby bonding at Wauconda library

About a dozen parents and their babies got a chance to bond Thursday during the "Peekaboo Baby" program at Wauconda Area Library.

The program featured simple and fun play ideas for babies and parents/caregivers that focused on engaging the senses, curiosity, stimulation and early communication. It consisted of 25 minutes of storytime, songs and finger play.

"It's bonding for the babies and the new parents," said children's librarian Patty Gmitrovic. "It's great for them to get out of the house and interact with other people."

This is a new program for the library that started last fall and runs every other Thursday.
