BrightSide Theatre stages 'Legally Blonde Junior'

BrightSide Theatre will present the fourth production of the BrightSide Theatre Youth Project with the musical based on the film where being true to yourself never goes out style - "Legally Blonde: The Musical Junior."

Directed by Artistic Director Jeffrey Cass, the musical is performed at North Central College's theater at Meiley-Swallow Hall, 31 S. Ellsworth St., Naperville.

Show times are 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20; 6 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 21; 3 and 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 27; and 6 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 28. Tickets are $12, $10 for students. For tickets, visit brightsidetheatre.com or call (630) 447-8497.

An international award-winning musical, "Legally Blonde Junior" follows the transformation of Elle Woods, an underestimated blonde who doesn't take "no" for an answer. She takes the stage by storm, tackling stereotypes, snobbery and scandal in pursuit of her dreams in an upbeat story of self-discovery.

The cast features Kids Performing for Kids who are ages 8 to 16 and from the area. They are Alexis Bass, Jake Clements, Anna Galo, Lauren Gilfillan, Neris Gorener, Ben Greenberg, Amanda Kornak, Ava Lewandowski, Mikaela Opaso, Claire Potter, Grace Potter, Bianca Schramm, Janelle Smith, Mia Soppi, and Jacqueline Thomas, all of Naperville; Lucy Bleu Benish, Maggie Clark, Kate Crisp, Hannah Crowe, Allie Emmet Audrey Lee, Kayla Riehle and Abby Rook of Downers Grove; Morgan Brown of Oswego; Kali Cassarino-Sulit of Lisle; Marley Hennessey of Joliet; Summer Jarka of Bolingbrook; Brooke Kassal and Brandon Young-Eleazar of Lombard; Jessica Miller of Westmont; Fletcher Peterson of Wheaton; Ella Schuler of Plainfield; and Lauren Seppala of Woodridge.
