Indiana Rep. Randy Truitt announces retirement plans
LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) - A state legislator from West Lafayette who has held office for eight years has decided not to seek another two-year term.
Indiana Rep. Randy Truitt announced Tuesday morning that he plans to retire from the Legislature at the end of the year and will not run for re-election in House District 26. Truitt said he's not seeking re-election because he wants to spend more time with his family and his real estate firm, Main Street Management.
The (Lafayette) Journal and Courier (http://on.jconline.com/1SJHfh3 ) reports that Truitt's announcement comes a little more than a week before the Feb. 5 deadline to file to be on the May primary ballot.
District 26 includes a large part of West Lafayette, the southern part of Lafayette and the western parts of Tippecanoe County.
