Camcraft named an IndustryWeek Best Plant for 2015

HANOVER PARK - Camcraft, a manufacturer of precision machined components, was recently named a Best Plant Award Winner for 2015 by IndustryWeek Magazine.

The award is given annually to recognize plants in North America that are on the leading edge of efforts to increase competitiveness, enhance customer satisfaction and create stimulating and rewarding work environments. In announcing the award, the publication stated that the award winners' "drive for continuous improvement in all phases of their operations is a testament to the commitment of their managers and employees to combine talent, technology and operational excellence to meet the needs of demanding customers here and around the world."

"The employees of Camcraft have worked incredibly hard to improve every aspect of our plant," said Mike Bertsche, Camcraft's President and CEO. "Using a cadence of regularly scheduled meetings, we revealingly measure ourselves, identify gaps in our performance, highlight waste, and improve these gaps with thousands of improvements."

One of IndustryWeek's primary criteria for consideration as a best plant is the nominees' commitment to continuous improvement. Camcraft calls their continuous improvement program E2B2, which is an acronym for Everybody, Every day, getting Better and Better. "E2B2 has created an environment where employees embrace the notion that what we do today is just not going to be good enough tomorrow; this attitude and the resulting effort at continuous improvement have moved us, over time, to become our customers' most valued and trusted supplier, and to mold Camcraft into a great place to work - both of which are imperatives of our mission statement," Bertsche said.

As one of IndustryWeek's Best Plants for 2015, Camcraft will be honored during a presentation at the 2016 Manufacturing & Technology Conference and Expo, which will take place May 3-5 in Chicago.
