Heartland Institute hosts school choice event Saturday

The Arlington Heights-based Heartland Institute will hold an event Saturday, Jan. 30, to recognize National School Choice Week.

The free event, open to the public, will feature a keynote speech by former congressman Joe Walsh, and a panel discussion on education choice with former Archdiocese of Chicago Catholic Schools Superintendent Sister Mary Paul McCaughey, Heartland Institute Senior Fellow Bruno Behrend, and other experts. State Rep. Tom Morrison will act as master of ceremonies.

Heartland, a free market think tank, relocated from Chicago to Arlington Heights last August.

The event is scheduled from 1 to 3 p.m. at 3939 N. Wilke Road.
