Batavia library takes a trip 'Down Under'

Many shows start with the national anthem and Sunday's The Ron & Sandie Aussie Show at the Batavia Public Library was no different.

Except instead of "The Star-Spangled Banner," it was the Australian national anthem - "Advance Australia Fair " - performed for an audience of about 100.

Ron Camron, an Australian singer and dancer, and his stage partner Sandie Triplett, from Chicago, spent an hour in the "Land Down Under" with their performance. The singing and dancing duo joked as they taught the crowd about famous Australian actors and singers, Australian animals and how to "speak Australian," with a long list of slang words and phrases.

They also performed old and new Aussie songs with a continuous slideshow background.
