Thibeaux's quick start helps Grayslake North past Woodstock

Brandi Thibeaux poured in 22 points, and Grayslake North's girls basketball team picked up a 47-28 win over host Woodstock in Fox Valley Conference Fox Division action Thursday night.

Thibeaux scored 10 points, including a pair of 3-pointers, in helping the Knights jump out to a 14-6 lead after one quarter. Grayslake North (13-9, 5-3) was up 22-12 at halftime and 35-20 after three. Sidney Lovitsch added 13 points for the Knights.

Loyola 54, Carmel 11: Liz Satter and Erin Dowdle each scored 11 points to lead the visiting Ramblers in the nonconference game.

Jen Giesey scored 5 points to lead Carmel (8-12), while Alexa Amato and Grace Phillips each grabbed 4 rebounds.

Loyola improved to 15-5.

Vernon Hills 58, Round Lake 30: On Wednesday night, Becky Bahlmann's 11 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals led the visiting Cougars in the North Suburban Prairie contest.

Kayla Caudle added 9 points and 5 rebounds for Vernon Hills (11-10, 4-4). Dakiya Daniels contributed 8 points for the Cougars, who had 11 players score.

Round Lake (3-17, 0-8) was led by Tatyana Steadman's 10 points.
