Officials: Hampshire teen found safe

A Hampshire Township teen who had been missing all week was found safe late Thursday evening, Kane County sheriff's officials said.

Natalie Nollinger, 16, left a note Monday morning saying she was leaving her home but would return, according to a Facebook post from the sheriff's office.

Friends and family were not able to reach her throughout the week, sheriff's Lt. Pat Gengler said.

"That's obviously a great concern," he said. "It's not common for a kid to leave and not come back."

Gengler said Natalie was suspected to be near Elgin, Hampshire or Marengo because she has friends who live in those areas.

Police did not elaborate on her whereabouts after she was found Thursday evening.
