Stevenson denies Warren's upset bid

Host Stevenson turned back Warren's big for a North Suburban Lake girls basketball upset on Thursday.

The Patriots remained unbeaten in NSC Lake play with a 38-35 victory.

Stevenson (15-3, 7-0) got a pair of 3s and 16 points from Kiana Cencula, and the Patriots managed to shoot 12-for-14 at the foul line.

Warren got a big effort from sophomore guard Jordyn Hughes, who made a pair of 3s and finished with a game-best 20 points. Dana Lundtveit and Asha Lake both had 6 points for the Blue Devils (10-9, 2-5).

Round Lake 52, Alden-Hebron 40: Miya Johnson helped lead the way to a Panthers nonconference victory by scoring 19 points. Diane Flade had 11 and Tatyana Steadman 6 for Round Lake.
