Mundelein High jazz concert

There will be music in the air Friday, Jan. 15, as the four Mundelein High School jazz groups present their Winter Jazz Concert in the school auditorium, 1350 W. Hawley St., Mundelein, beginning at 7 p.m. Jerald Shelato and Andy Sturgeon direct the groups in the free concert. The Jazz Lab Band will perform "Bye Bye Blackbird," "All Blues" and the Duke Ellington hit, "Limbo Jazz." Next, the Jazz Workshop will play "Flight of the Foo Birds," "Filling in for The Count" and "Sideways Walking Dog." The Jazz Orchestra will offer "Dat Dere," "The Jive Samba," "Greasin' the Skids" and the Cole Porter hit "I've Got You Under My Skin." Closing out the concert, the award-winning Jazz Ensemble will perform "King Kong," "Memphis Blues," "Indian Lady" and the George Gershwin favorite, "I Got Rhythm." Each of the jazz bands will feature soloists in the performances.
