Aurora police seek help finding vandals

Vandals in Aurora have used BB guns to cause more than $6,000 in damage, and police are asking for the public's help in catching them.

Since the beginning of the year, police have responded to 15 separate incidents in which buildings or vehicles on the city's near east or near west sides have been damaged by BBs or pellets, police said in a release.

The majority of the damage occurred overnight between Jan. 1 and Tuesday. Among the buildings hit were Sacred Heart Church on the 700 block of Fulton Street and East Aurora High School on the 500 block of Tomcat Lane.

Anyone with information should call Aurora investigators at (630) 256-5500 or Aurora Area Crime Stoppers at (630) 892-1000. Crime Stoppers calls are anonymous and qualify for a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to any arrests. Or tips can be submitted through Aurora's free app.
