Slick roads causing numerous accidents this morning

Snow overnight has the Tuesday morning commute off to a rough start.

The trouble spots this morning include:

• Eastbound Army Trail Road has been reopened between Linda Lane and Lombard Road after a crash this morning.

• A rollover accident on the Tri-State Tollway closed two northbound lanes near the Eisenhower Expressway ramp. Those lanes have been reopened, but traffic is backed up in the area.

• There's a crash on southbound Route 12 near Route 53.

• An accident at Bartlett and Golf roads has slowed traffic in the area.

• A crash is causing delays on Fisher and Darrell roads near Wauconda.

The snow is expected to taper off this morning.

The forecast today calls for highs around 11 degrees with winds gusting to 30 mph or more. Blowing snow could lead to treacherous driving conditions.

Temperatures will continue to drop this evening and into the overnight hours, reducing temperatures into single digits with wind chills dropping to -15.
