Gallimore helps Antioch return to winning ways

Erika Gallimore scored a career-high 25 points and added 11 rebounds, and Antioch's girls basketball team got back on the winning track with a 63-48 win over host Grant in North Suburban Prairie Division action Saturday night.

Alexis Duehr added 14 points for Antioch (17-1, 6-0), which got 9 assists and 4 steals from Ashley Reiser.

Duehr hit four 3-pointers, which tied a career high. Amy Reiser (back) sat out for the fifth time in six games.

For Grant (9-7, 3-1), Mallory Harrity scored a team-high 12 points, while freshman Ally Mahinay added 11 points. It was the Bullldogs' fifth loss in a row.

Lakes 63, Round Lake 31: Natalie Iacopetti scored a team-high 12 points for Lakes, which got off to a 20-2 lead in the first quarter.

Sarah Zellman added 11 points for the Eagles, who moved to 9-6 overall and 3-1 in the NSC Prairie Division.

"We had two great days of practice," Lakes coach Brian Phelan said. "That energy carried over to the start of the game tonight. I am very pleased with our first quarter effort and communication."

Ellie Haviland and Natalie Pawlak added 8 points apiece for Lakes.

Vernon Hills 60, Wauconda 35: Becky Bahlmann had 13 points and 3 steals, while Dakiya Daniels had 10 points and 3 steals to lead Vernon Hills to the win.

Vernon Hills improved to 10-9 and 2-3 in the NSC Prairie.

Katie Burrows and Emma Pappano added 9 points apiece for the Cougars, while Kayla Caudle finished with 8 points.

Corrina Vaughan finished with a game-high 18 points for Wauconda (10-6, 2-2), which has lost five in a row.

Zion-Benton 43, Mundelein 33: The Mustangs' loss dropped their record to 5-14 and 1-5 in the NSC Lake.

Lake Forest 59, Highland Park 56: Lake Forest used a big second quarter to fuel the win.

Delaney Williams scored a team-high 24 points for Lake Forest, while Maeve Summerville added 19 points.
