Three COD trustees skip meeting after agenda dispute

Three College of DuPage trustees skipped a special meeting they scheduled for last night after three other members of the bitterly divided board started their own meeting with an agenda they created. In a written statement, the three absent trustees accused the other three of "playing dirty political games by undermining a special meeting called by three trustees." Bloomingdale doctor sent to prison for fraud

A Bloomingdale doctor was sentenced yesterday to two years in federal prison for fraudulently diagnosing patients, allowing Medicare to wrongly be billed for millions of dollars in unnecessary treatment, officials said. Dr. Arthur Davida, 62, pleaded guilty last year to a health care fraud charge for decisions he made as an employee and part-owner of Bloomingdale-based Home Care Physicians Inc. Full story.

Lake County getting first explosive detection dog

Lake County will receive its first explosive detection police dog through funding from an animal charity's donation, Lake County sheriff's officials announced yesterday.
