St. Alphonsus School working on a plan to stay viable

Though approximately $332,000 was raised over Christmas break to keep St. Alphonsus Liguori Catholic School in Prospect Heights open for the 2016-17 school year, school and Archdiocese of Chicago officials are still working on a plan that make that feasible. Nobody wins the Powerball

A lottery official said late last night that there is no jackpot winner in the drawing for a Powerball prize worth an estimated $500 million. Republican hopefuls turn in delegate lists

Republican presidential hopefuls Dr. Ben Carson, businesswoman Carly Fiorina, Ohio Gov. John Kasich, Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul and Florida Sen. Marco Rubio turned in convention delegate lists to run in the Illinois primary Wednesday, the last day to do so. They join former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, Texas Sen. Metra train, car collide in Palatine

Traffic near the Metra line in Palatine was tied up for several hours on Wednesday afternoon after a train hit a car, officials said. A woman in the car suffered minor injures and was treated at the scene, the release said. Full story.
