Images: #TBT Gallery revisits ice skating fun
In this week's #TBT Gallery, we take a look at suburban ice skaters from 1969-1974. Kids probably got new ice skates for Christmas and like today, took them to the ponds and rinks during winter break to try them out.
We found photos of solo skaters, groups of skaters, ice races and hockey games. A favorite wintertime sport for all ages, outdoor skating is as popular today as it was then. If the weather is too warm for outdoor ice, like we are experiencing this winter, there are also many indoor rinks in the suburbs for kids to enjoy.
