Pierce remains leader at North Shore Sanitary District

Gurnee-based North Shore Sanitary District has announced its board leadership team for 2016.

Daniel Pierce of Highland Park was unanimously re-elected as the water reclamation district's president at an annual organization meeting this month. Also re-elected were Vice President Steve Drew of Waukegan and Treasurer Preston Carter of Beach Park.

"It has been an honor to serve on the ... board of trustees for more than a decade," Pierce said. "I have enjoyed working with my fellow board members and our professional staff to ensure that the district continues to provide outstanding wastewater treatment services to our customers while pursuing environmentally sound reuses for treated wastewater."

The district serves about 300,000 customers in 17 Lake County towns, including Gurnee, Highland Park, Lake Forest and Grayslake.
