Man shot in arm in Wheeling

A 24-year-old man was shot in the arm about midnight Wednesday, Wheeling Police Chief Bill Benson said Saturday. The man was taken to Glenbrook Hospital in Glenview where he was treated for injuries that were not life threatening, he said.

Police received a call about midnight reporting multiple shots fired in the area of 800 McHenry Road and people in a car leaving the area. Officers canvassed the area, finding the man bleeding from a gunshot wound in a parking lot, Benson said. They also located several spent cartridges.

Police have no one in custody and are continuing to investigate the shooting, he said.
