Mundelein self-defense class

The Mundelein Police Department will host a free class for women 18 and over who are interested in learning various self-defense tactics. Young women who are 17 years old young will be able to participate in the class with parental permission. The class will meet for one month on Tuesdays from 6 to 8 p.m. Feb. 16 to March 10 at the Mundelein Police Department, 221 North Lake St. The first sessions will address the physical aspect of self-defense, as well as situational awareness and being aware of what is happening around you that may pose a threat. Students should wear loose fitting workout clothes. The class requires some physical activity. Space is limited to 30 participants. Call (847) 968-3770 to register.
