Metropolis has got itself turned around
Hats off to the team now running the show at Metropolis Performing Arts Centre. New Executive/Artistic Director Joe Keefe seems to have found the formula for consistently putting on top quality shows - which wasn't always the case in years past.
We've been attending shows at Metropolis since it opened. We've seen many shows there, some good, some bad, but, recently, "Spamalot" was undoubtedly the best show we've ever seen at this venue.
The subsequent "Artist Lounge" shows, hosted by ex-"Jersey Boy" Michael Ingersoll, have received enthusiastic standing ovations. The headliners were great, but I've also been impressed with the talent of the local backup musicians. This is top quality professional entertainment right here in our backyard.
With nice dining options within a block or two, an evening at Metropolis may be the best deal in town. When the word gets around, I think this new version of Metropolis is going to become a very popular place.
