5 top years for mergers and acquisitions

NEW YORK (AP) - This year is the top for mergers and acquisitions in terms of the dollar value of the deals. Big combinations announced this year, from drugmakers Pfizer and Allergan to Dow Chemical and DuPont, helped push 2015 past 2007. Deal making slowed after 2007 as the Great Recession cooled the market, but it has picked up again since.

Here's the top five years for deals, ranked by Dealogic.
