Bullet found at Arlington Heights middle school

A bullet was found on the floor of the boy's locker room at South Middle School in Arlington Heights on Friday night, but officials said there was no danger to the school.

Parents were notified about the discovery Monday in a letter from Superintendent Lori Bein. Classes in Arlington Heights Elementary District 25 were held as normal.

According to the Bein's letter, a custodian found the bullet Friday night and called police to search all lockers and other parts of the building.

"The police department and District 25 administration determined that at no point was student safety in jeopardy," the letter reads.

Arlington Heights police are investigating and ask anyone with information to contact them or Arlington Heights Crime Stoppers tip line at (847) 590-STOP.
