Jaguars place Gerhart on injured reserve, promote Lawrence

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) - The Jacksonville Jaguars have placed running back Toby Gerhart (groin) on injured reserve and promoted receiver Rashad Lawrence from the practice squad.

Gerhart played in seven games this season, rushing 20 times for 44 yards and catching three passes for 23 yards. He was inactive for four games and likely will need surgery to repair a sports hernia.

Lawrence, originally signed by Washington as an undrafted rookie in 2014, spent the offseason and preseason with Chicago before being waived in final cuts in September.

Lawrence could be active Sunday at Tennessee. Allen Hurns (concussion) has been ruled out, and fellow receivers Bryan Walters (back) and Neal Sterling (illness) are questionable to play.
