'Joy Ride' wreath tops in Arlington Hts. event

The Arlington Heights Historical Society's first Festival of the Wreaths was a great success. With 78 wreaths created and donated by community members, organizations and village departments, the variety of wreaths was amazing.

Interest in the wreaths was obvious during the silent auction that began after the village's Tree Lighting.

The wreath that won first place in the category Most Representative of Arlington Heights was "Joy Ride" created by John and Gloria Amling and donated by Village Bank and Trust. "Read All About It" created by Josephine Perez and donated by The Friends of the Library won first place in artist/crafters.

The weekend included musical performances by several musical groups including the Arlingtones, a Barbershop chorus.

The event was held to promote community engagement and awareness of the Arlington Heights Historical Society/Historical Museum and to raise funds for the Historical Society.
