Snow likely to slow your morning commute

Slick and snowy conditions are greeting motorists across the suburbs, the National Weather Service is reporting.

Less than an inch of snow is reported as of 6 a.m., officials at the Community Collaborative Rain Hail and Snow Network is reporting on their website.

Snow showers, possibly mixed with rain, will continue throughout the morning into the afternoon, officials said. The snowfall is expected to be "moderate to briefly heavy" during the morning commute and could reduce visibility in some areas, officials said.

Slushy snow accumulation could cause travel delays.
