Hanover Township hosts new principal reception

Hanover Township hosted its annual New Leaders in Education reception on Tuesday, Nov. 17, at the Hanover Township Senior Center to recognize four new School District U-46 principals that serve in Hanover Township.

Principals Lourdes Baker of Gifford Street High School; Dr. Ariel Correa of Streamwood High School; Lorelei Keltner of Bartlett Elementary School; and Dr. Kyle VonSchnase of Hilltop Elementary School were honored for their new leadership roles.

Hanover Township officials were joined by other local elected officials from the community in recognizing the principals.

"Principals are not only leaders in the schools, they're also leaders in our community with a vested interest in seeing our communities succeed when our children succeed," said Hanover Township Supervisor Brian P. McGuire.

"Without their continued support, we would not be able to offer the programming and services to township youth. Events like these show our gratitude for their passion and drive to help our youth excel in education."

This was the seventh annual event recognizing new U-46 principals.

"This is always a wonderful event, emblematic of the commitment and support for education among our leaders and families in Hanover Township," said U-46 CEO Tony Sanders. "We're grateful for the chance to recognize our hard-working school leaders who go above and beyond each day for our students."
