Three charged in beating of man lured to Aurora for sex

Three people have been charged with luring a 28-year-old man into an Aurora apartment early Thursday morning for sex and then beating and robbing him, according to police and court records.

Adriana J. Chavez, 25, and Miles C. Perry, 23, of the 900 block of Second Avenue, Aurora, and Alejandro Alvarez, 21, of 1500 block of North 15th Avenue, Melrose Park, face felony charges of theft and robbery and are being held at the Kane County jail, Kane County records show.

Police say they are searching for a fourth suspect as well.

According to police, the victim, a man from Summit, told police he went to Chavez' apartment about 1 a.m. Thursday after she promised him sexual favors.

Police said once Chavez opened the door and the victim stepped in, three men came out of a side bedroom and beat and robbed him.

The victim, who had met Alvarez on the Internet a couple of days earlier, was dragged down three flights of stairs and thrown out of the building, police said.

An Aurora officer familiar with the apartment complex reviewed a surveillance video and found Chavez, Perry and Alvarez still in the building, police said. The three were questioned and later charged.

If convicted, each faces up to seven years in prison.

Chavez is due in court Dec. 9 and is being held at the Kane County jail on $50,000 bail, meaning she must post $5,000 to be released while the charges are pending.

Perry and Alvarez are being help on bail of $50,000 and $75,000, respectively. Perry is due in court on Dec. 11; Alvarez on Dec. 10.
