Antioch win Niles North tournament
Amy Reiser scored a game-high 22 points and Ashley Reiser contributed 14 to help Antioch's girls basketball team past Wheeling 51-31 in tournament play Saturday at Niles North.
The outcome secured the tournament championship for the Sequoits, who remain unbeaten at 6-0.
Wheeling led 15-13 after the first quarter, but Antioch limited the Wildcats to 5 points in both the second and third quarters.
Ashley Reiser canned three 3s and sophomore guard Olivia Ori had 1 for the Sequoits, who got 6 points from Erika Gallimore.
Melissa Claver scored 14 points to lead Wheeling (3-3 overall, 3-2 at Niles North) and Shannon Kennedy had 11.
Maine South 37, Grayslake Central 26: The Hawks held the Rams to 2 points in the third quarter in tournament-ending play at Buffalo Grove.
Amanda Larson and Ania Barnes had 6 points, and Quin Garbett and Kelly Moroney scored 5 apiece for Grayslake Central (2-4).
Buffalo Grove 70, Libertyville 48: Claire Keefe scored a team-best 15 points, but the Wildcats couldn't keep pace with the tournament host Bison.
Maggie Piazzi had 8 points and Carol Frea 7 for Libertyville.
Buffalo Grove's Maddie Welter led all scorers with 21 points and Georgette Topalis had 13.
