Judge rejects reinstating murder charges against mother

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (AP) - A judge has rejected a prosecution request to reinstate murder charges against a Bloomington woman in the death of her young son.

WJBC radio (http://bit.ly/1PMrPaF ) reports Judge Robert Freitag rejected the request to reinstate the murder charges against Danielle Fischer, who still has child endangerment charges against her. Freitag had dropped the murder charges in September, after he concluded the state had violated the speedy trial rights of Fischer.

Fischer is accused of failing to take her critically ill 3-year-old son Robbie Cramer to a doctor after he was repeatedly beaten by her former boyfriend Nicholas Compton.

Compton was convicted of murder last year for causing internal injuries that led to the boy's March 2013 death.
