Enjoy an old fashioned Christmas at Brushwood

Brushwood Center at Ryerson Woods will host a new program seasoned with Christmases past from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec, 12, at the Ryerson Woods Forest Preserve, 21850 N. Riverwoods Road, Riverwoods.

The free event will include caroling, ornament making, cookies and cocoa. Sing-a-long Music Books will be provided.

Brushwood Christmas is designed to give the public an opportunity to celebrate the holiday season together, see the Botanical Art exhibit, and enjoy the rarely seen photographs from the Ryerson/Ranney family collection.

A snowshoeing program scheduled earlier that day will take participants past historic cabins and along the Des Plaines River.

Registration is required for both events at www.BrushwoodCenter.org or (847) 968-3308. For more information about these and other programs, or to learn how to volunteer, contact Jackie Rockwell, JRockwell@BrushwoodCenter.Org.
