HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) - Breanna Stewart scored 25 points and top-ranked UConn routed Kansas State 97-57 on Monday night, the 30th anniversary of Geno Auriemma's first game as head coach of the Huskies.
Gabby Williams added 16 points and 12 rebounds, helping give Auriemma his 919th win.
Stewart became the ninth player in school history to reach 2,000 points with a 3-pointer from the right corner in the third quarter. She now has 2,009 for her career, moving past Renee Montgomery (1,990) and Bria Hartley (1,994).
Kaylee Page and Kindred Wesemann each had 11 to lead Kansas State (3-1).
UConn, which is seeking its fourth straight national championship, has won 39 straight games.
No. 3 NOTRE DAME 110, VALPARAISO 54
VALPARAISO, Ind. (AP) - Marina Mabrey had the fifth triple-double in Notre Dame history to help the Irish rout Valparaiso.
The freshman guard finished with 18 points and 10 assists - both career bests - and a school-record 12 steals for the No. 3-ranked Irish (4-0). The last Notre Dame player with a triple-double was Skylar Diggins on Feb. 24, 2013.
Notre Dame turned Valparaiso turnovers into 51 points in the rout.
Thanks largely to eight steals and 14 points by Mabrey in the first half, the Irish (4-0) led the Crusaders 53-18 at the break. Notre Dame converted takeaways into 27 points in the first half alone.
Valparaiso was led in scoring by Meredith Hamlet with 10 points and Jasmyn Walker with nine.
No. 4 TENNESSEE 59, CHATTANOOGA 57
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Diamond DeShields scored 17 points and made numerous big plays down the stretch Monday as Tennessee hung on for a victory over Chattanooga after squandering most of a 23-point lead.
DeShields was coming off a scoreless performance in a victory over No. 23 Syracuse. She had four points, an assist and a steal during a 6-2 run after Chattanooga had cut Tennessee's lead to 53-51 with less than two minutes left.
Mercedes Russell had 13 points and Bashaara Graves added 10 points and 11 rebounds as Tennessee (4-0) earned its 26th straight home victory.
Queen Alford had 19 points to lead Chattanooga (3-2), which had beaten Tennessee two of the last three years.
Tennessee raced to a 19-2 lead and had a 23-point advantage in the second quarter before Chattanooga got back into the game with its defense and 3-point shooting.
No. 23 SYRACUSE 90, MORGAN STATE 61
SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) - Alexis Peterson scored 17 points, Brianna Butler added 15 and Syracuse made 13 3-pointers in a victory over Morgan State.
Syracuse has won 70 straight non-conference games at home, with its last loss coming on Dec. 22, 2006.
The Orange used an 11-0 run in a decisive 23-6 second quarter to take a 42-27 halftime lead. Syracuse made six 3-pointers in the quarter, including three straight by Brittney Sykes, Jade Phillips and Butler.
Briana Day and Sykes added 11 points apiece for Syracuse (2-1). The Orange made 13 of 43 3-pointers, with five by Butler.
It was the most points scored by Syracuse since Dec. 1, 2014 against Vermont.
Tykyrah Williams had 22 points and seven rebounds for Morgan State (1-3). Braennan Farrar added 22 points and seven boards. The Lady Bears were held to 20-of-69 shooting (29 percent) and turned the ball over 21 times.
