Bubbleologist wows crowd at Lake Villa library

Jennifer Flatley held her 1-year-old son, Declan, tightly Monday as they were completely surrounded by a giant bubble at the Lake Villa District Library.

The Lindenhurst residents were among the nearly 100 children, parents and caregivers who watched in amazement as "bubbleologist" Geoff Akins worked magic with bubbles during his "Bubble Wonders" show at the library.

"The theme of the show is 'Anything is Possible!' and to prove it, I am going to to try and create a square bubble," Akins said at one point of his show. "I intentionally fail along the way because I am trying to model persistence. But by the end of the show, we figure out how to make a square bubble."

Akins also created a bubble caterpillar, fog-filled bubbles, and captured children in bubbles before, as promised, he created a square bubble.

Akins has performed all across the U.S. and in 10 different countries. He's also appeared on ABC, NBC, CBS and the National Geographic Channel.

"It was a dream come true," Flatley said after having the bubble capture her and her son. "I love bubbles, and I have always loved bubbles. To come and see the show and to be a part of it was very cool and very special."
