Donations needed for Adopt-a-Senior in Hanover Twp.

Hanover Township Senior Services is in need of donations for the annual Adopt-A-Senior program at the Township Senior Center.

The Adopt-A-Senior Program is an annual gift-giving program for low-income Township seniors. Care packages of essential items are donated from the community and given to the residents, ages 55 and older. Last year, over 75 seniors received holiday gifts from the program.

A Giving Tree will be set up in the Senior Center Lobby at 240 S. Route 59 in Bartlett, starting in November and running through early December.

Sponsors are asked to visit the Giving Tree and take an ornament. Each ornament displayed on the tree represents an item to be purchased for a senior in need. Simply remove the ornament from the tree, obtain and wrap the specified item, and return to Social Services. Donors are asked to return the original ornament with the gift to ensure it is properly matched to each resident.

For clothing items, it is helpful to include a gift receipt. All gift items need to be returned to the Senior Center by Friday, Dec. 5.

Monetary donations and gift cards are also appreciated. A check made payable to Hanover Township can be mailed to Hanover Township Senior Services, 240 S. Route 59, Bartlett, IL 60103, Attention: Megan Conway.
