Police don't suspect homicide after infant bodies found

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Philadelphia police are investigating how the bodies of two newborns came to be found in a weed-filled lot, but don't suspect foul play in their deaths.

Authorities say the bodies had undergone an autopsy.

Police suspect the unclothed bodies were recently dumped in an alley where children found them Saturday evening.

They initially thought they might be dolls, but their families called police to the scene Sunday morning.

Police say they were looking for occupants of a black pickup truck reported dumping trash nearby.

Authorities say one body is male and the other female.

Police spokeswoman Christine O'Brien says the question is not how the babies died but how they ended up at the lot.
