Sarah Palin to sign copies of her book in Naperville

Sarah Palin, the first Republican woman to run for vice president, will make a stop Dec. 1 in Naperville — not for a campaign, but to promote a book.

Palin will sign copies of her new title, “Sweet Freedom: A Devotional,” at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1, at the Naperville Marriott, 1801 N. Naper Blvd., in an event sponsored by Anderson's Bookshop.

Palin's book presents 260 meditations on biblical verses that offer strength and inspiration for doubts, anxieties and everyday stresses about family, community and country. It's the latest work by the former Alaska governor, whose writings also include “Going Rogue,” “America by Heart” and “Good Tidings and Great Joy.”

Fans who buy a ticket to the book signing will receive one autographed copy of “Sweet Freedom” and the chance for a brief photo with Palin. A professional photographer will take the photos, which will be available free online after the event.

Tickets cost $27.90 at www.sarahpalinandersons.brownpapertickets.com. Each ticket admits one adult to the line; children younger than 18 are free.

No bags, purses, or cellphones will be allowed at the signing table to maintain security, so Anderson's Bookshop encourages fans to bring as little as possible into the hotel.
