Moore runs wild in Appalachian State's 47-20 win over Idaho

MOSCOW, Idaho (AP) - Jalin Moore rushed for a freshman school-record 244 yards, and Appalachian State beat Idaho 47-20 on Saturday night.

Moore, whose previous high was 75 yards, carried the Mountaineers up and down the field with 27 carries though he didn't score. The Mountaineers finished with 401 yards rushing and outgained Idaho 511-299 in total offense.

Taylor Lamb was 8-of-15 passing for just 90 yards but threw for three touchdowns. Backup J.P. Caruso added a touchdown pass. No Mountaineer scored more than one touchdown.

The victory kept Appalachian State (8-2, 5-1 Sun Belt) in a second-place tie with Georgia Southern and a game back of Arkansas State with two conference games left.

Matt Linehan was 20 of 31 for 243 yards and two touchdowns for Idaho (3-7, 2-5), which dropped its third straight.

The game marked the first time the Mountaineers played in the Pacific Time Zone.
