3 face drug charges in NIU student's deadly fall from dorm
DEKALB, Ill. (AP) - Three men face drug charges stemming from the death of a Northern Illinois University student who fell from a dormitory window.
Campus police say 20-year-old NIU student Michael Kielhack and 19-year-old classmate Michael Z. Montgomery were arrested last week. Nineteen-year-old Thomas P. Quirke of Aurora was also arrested.
All three face charges of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance alleging that they played a role in selling LSD to 19-year-old Oluwarotimi Okedina.
Police said Okedina had LSD and marijuana in his system when he fell from a dormitory's 11th-floor window and died Sept. 26. Authorities said the drugs impaired Okedina's judgment.
Online court records do not show whether Kielhack and Quirke have attorneys.
But Montgomery's attorney, Robert Nolan, tells the (DeKalb) Daily Chronicle that Montgomery has withdrawn from the university.
