Kurth, Stevenson earn spot in sectional
Corissa Kurth racked up 5 aces, 4 kills, 17 assists and 2 solo blocks, and Stevenson's girls volleyball team beat No. 7 Palatine 25-9, 25-22 in the Class 4A Zion-Benton regional final Thursday night.
Isabella Milejczyk and Jori Radtke pounded 6 and 5 kills, respectively, for No. 2 Stevenson (29-8), which plays No. 6 Carmel Catholic (23-14) in Tuesday's 7 p.m. sectional semifinal at Libertyville. Milejczyk and Chloe Robinson each served 3 aces. Morgan Berland led the Patriots in digs with eight.
Regina Dominican d. Antioch: At DePaul College Prep, the No. 6 seed rallied to defeat the third-seeded Sequoits 19-25, 25-22, 25-23 in the Class 3A regional final.
