Harper College womens' soccer team hosts Triton

After an 8-7 regular season that saw the Harper College women's soccer team finish 6-4 in the North Central Community College Conference, the Hawks are looking for some consistency as they begin the postseason.

"We are looking to survive and advance in each game," Harper coach Dwayne Cruz said.

On Tuesday, the Hawks host Triton College in the quarterfinals of the NJCAA Division III, Region IV tournament at 3 p.m.

Harper is the No. 3 seed in the region, while Triton has struggled to an 0-12-1 record.

The Hawks visited River Grove last Friday and earned a 5-1 victory to close out the regular season. That was also the score when the teams met in September, in Palatine.

"We have to finish chances," Cruz said.

Harper has gone 3-3 in its last six games, including a 2-0 loss to top seed College of DuPage and a 4-1 win over No. 2 seed Rock Valley.

"We've not shown (COD) our true team," Cruz said of the regular-season games against the Hawks' rival.

The Region IV semifinals and finals will be hosted by College of DuPage.
