Deadly Arlington Heights fire still under investigation

More than a week after a deadly house fire in Arlington Heights, officials are still investigating the cause of the blaze.

The early morning fire Oct. 6 killed a 68-year-old man and injured two women at a home in the 1600 block of West Waverly Court.

"We are still waiting on the findings of the forensics unit, arson investigator and the state fire marshal before making a ruling," said Arlington Heights Deputy Police Chief Andrew Whowell. "We have to wait for all the reports."

Whowell was not certain when those reports would be finalized. While the fire is under investigation, officials are not speculating about where the fire began or why.
