Stewart accounts for 4 TDs; Nevada beats New Mexico 35-17

RENO, Nev. (AP) - Tyler Stewart threw two touchdown passes and ran for two more, and Nevada pulled away late to beat New Mexico 35-17 on Saturday night.

Stewart had touchdown runs of 13 and 10 yards to give Nevada (3-3, 1-1 Mountain West Conference) a 21-10 lead late in the third quarter. Stewart fumbled to open the fourth quarter, and Nias Martin returned the ball 77 yards to pull the Lobos to 21-17. Stewart threw an 8-yard touchdown pass on the ensuing series, and added a 27-yard scoring strike to Jerico Richardson with about a minute remaining

New Mexico (3-3, 1-1) quarterback Austin Apodaca came off the bench in the fourth quarter and completed seven straight passes, driving to the Wolfpack 25-yard line. Apodaca then connected with Dameon Gamblin, but Gamblin fumbled while reaching for the goal line with about five minutes left. Nevada's Jordan Dobrich recovered in the end zone.
