Bowling Green football coach, trainer save woman from wreck

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (AP) - Officials say Bowling Green State University football coach Dino Babers and an athletic trainer saved a woman from a burning car last weekend as the team was coming home from a game.

The Blade newspaper (http://bit.ly/1LvnDLx ) reports that Babers and Chelsea Lowe were aboard the first of four team buses traveling back from Buffalo to the northwest Ohio school on Interstate 90. They saw a car swerve in front of the bus, hit the center divider and catch fire.

The pair pulled the injured driver from the flaming wreck. She was identified as 25-year-old Amber Nettles.

Babers says he fulfilled a promise he made to a Good Samaritan who helped him when he was stranded on the road during a snowstorm nearly 30 years ago.
