Boys soccer: Dundee-Crown, Jacobs notch wins

Dundee-Crown 3, Huntley 2: The Red Raiders rallied from a 2-goal deficit in the second half only to see the Chargers (11-3-4, 2-1) clip them in a shootout for a pivotal Fox Valley Conference Valley Division win. Jeremy Jareckyj and Julian Ajroja each had goals while Freddy Martinez and Carlos Sanchez added assists. Luis Cruz totaled 5 saves in net for D-C while his counterparts from Huntley (11-5-1, 1-2), Andrew Fulcer and Michael Parks combined for 5 saves. Michael Zembrzuski and Travis Walsh added goals for the Raiders while Jason Zobott tallied an assist.

Jacobs 3, Cary-Grove 0: Noah Melick provided 2 assists, but it was Konrad Wasilewski, Cris Guzman and Andrew Kaufmann who found the net in another FVC Valley win for the Golden Eagles (14-4, 2-1). Dan Kim also added an assist while goalie Eduardo Guimaray posted a shutout with 8 saves. Goalkeeper Luis Lemus stopped 3 shots for Cary-Grove (6-6-2, 0-4) while Theo Price managed 2.

Larkin 3, Glenbard South 1: Eric Paniagua notched 2 goals and Chris Plantz had as many assists in the Royals' (7-5-5) nonconference win. Abel Saenz also had 1 goal while Alex Cruz had an assist. Goalkeeper Miguel Perez nailed down 6 saves.

Kaneland 1, Sycamore 0: John McCaffrey scored off an Angel Escontrias assist 5 minutes before the half for a Northern Illinois Big 12 East win. The Knights improved to 7-5-4 and 3-1-2 in conference.

Burlington Central 2, Genoa-Kingston 0: The Cogs were served 2 scoops of Jack Schramme in the Rockets' Big Northern East win. AJ Gouriotis and Cole Tecza had assists for Central (9-8-1, 8-3) and Ryan Fitzgerald pitched a shutout with 4 saves in goal.

Hampshire 4, Woodstock 1: Braeden Frenette and Jose Cruz led the Whip-Purs (10-7-1, 3-2) with 1 goal and 1 assist each in an FVC Fox win over the Blue Streaks. Doug Stuehler and Alex Walker also chipped in goals while Tyler Koppie added an assist. Jason Polletta allowed 1 goal on 9 saves in net.
