Help those in need at Soup's On!

Participants can enjoy tasty fare from dozens of restaurants and food vendors while helping those in need of food and shelter at the Soup's On! fundraiser sponsored by the Rotary Club of Naperville.

During the event, being held from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 18, at Naperville Central High School, 440 Aurora Ave., guests will dine on soup and chili, BBQ entrees, signature sandwiches and desserts.

While enjoying the food, they will be treated to musical entertainment by local high school groups, while kids have fun doing crafts and other activities in a special area sponsored by the DuPage Children's Museum.

The Rotary Club of Naperville, which is hosting Soup's On! in partnership with My Chef Catering, will donate the proceeds of the event to DuPage PADS, Hesed House in Aurora, Loaves and Fishes Community Services based in Naperville, and Rotary Club of Naperville Charities.

Since the inception of Soup's On! in 2008, the club has given more than $800,000 to these organizations to help people locally. This year's sponsorship goal is $85,000.

In addition to food and entertainment, attendees will be tempted to bid on silent auction items that include sports memorabilia, special theme baskets and donations from area restaurants. Families may want to take home the Spooktacular Fun Basket filled with Halloween surprises.

Others will bid for the chance to win the Hanukkah Goodies Basket that includes a Schmaltz Deli gift card and a Crate & Barrel Hanukkah plate. Couples have a chance to win the romantic dinner for two sponsored by My Chef Catering.

"We are very excited about Soup's On!" said Nina Menis, co-chairman of the event. "It has been such a privilege to work with our three charity partners again this year. We stand with them in their efforts to eliminate hunger and homelessness in our community."

Tickets are $45 for adults, $35 for seniors and military personnel, $10 for children ages 6-10, and free for children 5 and younger.
